GeoXRoute Engine

Our routing engine is built on GeoX’s proprietary Hungarian road network database (DSM-10, DSMRoute), which encompasses the country’s complete road infrastructure including turn restrictions, access rules, and dimensional limits. Based on these parameters, it calculates the recommended route across two or more locations, providing total distance, estimated travel time, and turn-by-turn maneuvers. Optimization can be configured for the fastest or shortest route, or customized according to specific criteria, such as avoiding or prioritizing certain road classes, as well as applying client-specific routing rules.

A key capability is its advanced heavy commercial vehicle (HGV) routing: based on parameters such as gross vehicle weight, axle load, height, width, and overall length, it excludes restricted road segments while taking weight limit exemptions into account (e.g. access granted for local delivery or destination traffic). Multiple waypoints can be incorporated, enabling end-to-end route planning for complete transport assignments.

Upon request, the service can return multiple alternatives rather than a single result, offering distinct physical trajectories with comparable travel times, empowering dispatchers or drivers to select the most suitable route. The service is accessible via a web interface and API for seamless integration into enterprise applications, and it can also be deployed on-premise within the customer’s own infrastructure.
